FairyFace Designs

Well, this was my original list I had written up:

1. Goodies for my ALFALC October Swap
2. Pretty little Purse Swap 3
3. Project Me- need to sandwich and quilt.
4. A Zig A Zag project
5. Lone Star project
6. Pumpkin pincushions
7. Under the Sea Quilt
8. Sunburst Quilt
9. 12 Days of Christmas Sampler QAL
10. Scarves for Red Heart's Special Olympics challenge.
11. A Virtuous Woman cross-stitch sampler
12. Wall hanging for my Mom ( I know Mom, it's been a long time coming!)
13. First three months of the Moody Blues Bee (Jan, Feb, March)
14. 3x6 Bee- Am a Queen Bee this quarter. Still in the sign up stage.
15. Cloaks for the kids (I've had the material for a year, sigh.)
16. Across the Sea Quilt
17. FLMQG Solids quilt charity bee challenge.

I finished #1, as well as months November, December and January of ALFALC Swap.
#2, I had a ton of fun with this and learned some new things with this as well.
#10, I made one scarf for this and will be sending it out shortly for the deadline is fast approaching.
#13, January's blocks are finished.  Stretched me a bit as one of the ladies wanted improv piecing.  I forgot to take a picture of the second set of blocks, though.

I also am a part of Sew.Bee.Create Bee as well and these are the blocks for January.  Again, stretched as it was more improv!

Another Bee I'm a part of, Bee a {modern} Swapper, is alternating between blocks and swaps.  This month is the swap and it's a pincushion swap.  This is the pinnie I created.

#14, blocks finished for both hives I was caretaker of.

I also made an angel mug rug for the Mug Rug Swap.

I also was a part of the Cups and Saucers Swap:

I also had a few orders during that time, most of them custom-made.

Though I didn't get nearly as much off the list finished, I did get a lot of other items finished.  I still have more to do, more added to the list and I think some that will have to wait, but all in all, I'm pleased with what I've accomplished.
I'm linking up with Sarah over at FairyFace Designs.
Also, over with Megan for {sew} modern Monday

A Surprise in the mail!

Isn't it lovely!  Now, I know it's a prize package from a giveaway.  It came with 3 Aurifil thread packs, two Famore scissors, 3 sisters pouch, kangaroo pouch, arrow cabinets t-shirt, clover pins, and warm and natural batting. Woohoo!  But for the life of me I can't remember who's giveaway it was in order to give a shout out!  The sender's last name is Ellis.  So, if it's you or someone you know, please tell me.   I'd love to give a proper thank-you!
Now, I have a ton of sewing to do today, so I'll be testing out the pins and scissors.  Have ideas for the pouches, but am unsure how I want to use the thread.  Ideas?

******UPDATE*****
Thanks to Sallie, I now remember who this was from!  Amy from Amy's Creative Side's Holiday Wish List for Quilter's Giveaway!
So, Thank you Amy!  I have already filled the cute little Kangaroo bag with some sewing notions: pins, scissors, pens & pencils.  The cute little pouch there on the left is full of thread, the 3 packs of Aurifil that came inside and all my Gutterman thread.  I'm trying to transition from Coats and Clark over to Gutterman, now it'll all be in one place!

Stick with it Saturday: week 2

Sam's Noggin
Well, this is short and sweet. I didn't get as much exercise in this week due to nasty rain and then white out conditions.  Gotta love upstate New York!  I did, however, get up to 1.5 miles with a stretch of 1/2 mile I ran without stopping.
Linking up with Sam this week!

3in30 Challenge: Week #2

3in30
Well, it's been a so-so week.
1. Exercise: Went two days this week.  I don't have a gym membership and have been running outside and well, this week it's rained and snowed for most of it.  :(
31 Days to Clean: I haven't been following along.  Bad me!  I did try to reclaim the girl's laundry mess and now my living room looks like it exploded.  Sigh
Bible in 90 Days starts up this coming Monday, I hope that I stick with this better than the last time I tried.
2. Blog balance: Not there yet, need to work on #3 for this to work!
3. Homeschool: Just.Kill.Me.Now!  I need to get off my procrastinating butt and get back on track!  Prayers are always appreciated!

Well, that's my not too exciting 3 in 30.  Linking up @ 3in30.

WIP Wednesday...a day late.

Well, trying to get back into the swing of things after the holidays seems to have been a bit difficult.  I am currently trying to finish off 3x6 blocks for two hives, am involved in three other bees, and am trying to get my house back in order and the kid's schooling back on track.  Oh, and I've also decided to get back into shape.  Nope, not busy at all.
Anyways, here are some of my wips.  I don't have all the pictures for everything, but this will give you an idea:
                                              Moody Blues Block for Leah
                                              2nd block for Leah
One of 12 3x6 Blocks for the 3x6 Mini Sampler Bee
All of the 3x6 blocks cut out
I also crocheted two cowls, another bee block for Sew.Bee.Create Bee and am trying to regain my home.  I am currently in the process of going through my daughter's clothing ( I have 4 of them and they have a lot!)  I think that I may go through and pull out their best to keep, some to put aside specifically for play and donate the rest.  I just have too much with no place for it all!  Anyways, that is where I am.  Hopefully, I'll be more organized for next week's link up.  :)

I will, however, link to Mel's TNT Thursday because those blocks for Leah were something new for me.  Wonky is not something I've done.  I usually follow a pattern.  :)

Stick with it Saturday: 1st of the year

Sam's Noggin

This week my goal was to start my exercise routine.  I decided that in order to keep this commitment, I will be training for a 5k that will be taking place in my area the end of May.  I started out the week with a 2.5 mile run/walk with the local running group.  I had a friend there who supported me and stuck with my slow self when she is able to go twice as far without having to do the whole run/walk but run all of it.  I walked/ran on Tuesday and Thursday a mile each time and on Monday I did Wii Fit Yoga, Friday was Wii Fit combination routine.  I took a rest on Wednesday because it is one of my busier days and you are supposed to throw in some rest so as not to over do it.  All in all, I am very glad that I have started this.  I plan on running/walking 1.5 miles as I slowly build my stamina.  I'll be linking over with Sam's Noggin.

Next week, I plan on doing the same as this past week, but increasing the distance to 1.5 miles and ending at 1.75 miles.  I also hope to increase my running and decrease the walking within those miles.

Here is a photo from the group run: (I'm the one on the left, my friend Lauren is the one in pink.)  :)

3in30: 1st Week check-in

3in30

First week's progress.
1.  Personal Goal:
*Exercise program.  I have run three days this week as well as done yoga and cardio.  So far, so good!
   * Bible in 90 hasn't started so no progress there.
   * 31 Days to Clean, today is Day 4 and I'm slightly behind.  Working to catch up this weekend.

2. Blog balance:  I haven't posted much this week, not much of a balance.  :)  This one may need some tweaking.

3. Homeschool:  Still lifting myself out of the funk, but I must admit I haven't done much to do so.  Will change that this weekend!

Sigh, not as much progress as I would have hoped.  I need to stick to my commitments and not let other things deter me from my goals, such as myself!

How have you done this week?

Fresh Sewing Day, first of the year!

3 in 30 Challenge

3in30 Challenge

I've been seeing this challenge over at Sam's Noggin for quite a while now and thought that it was about time for me to utilize it myself.  So, for the next year, in order to help accomplish my New Year's resolution I am implementing this challenge.  I chose to break it down into three categories: personal, blog, homeschool.

1. My personal goal for January:
-I am training for a 5k using an 8 week schedule.  Starting January 2nd.  I will also be linking to Sam's Noggin Stick with it Saturdays as well.
-I'll be reading the Bible in 90 Days starting January 16th
-Starting the 31 Days to Clean on the 2nd, been in a funk and my home has suffered.

2. Blog: Bring balance to it by including more homeschool related posts.  This means writing a weekly review of  what we did the past week, most likely on either Saturday or Sunday.
-I am also going to be writing a tutorial for the Intrepid Thread as well.  Rather nervous about it, and excited as well.

3. Homeschool:  Get ourselves back into a routine.  I've been in a funk and it's affected the kids.  Adjust our schedule and commit to sticking to it.  This will mean less time sitting at the computer reading blogs, looking at my tablet for the newest tweet and refraining from computer time until after my other obligations have been met.

I will be linking up over at 3in30.ashleypichea.com

Happy New Year to everyone!
